Due to insufficient public infrastructure in Pune, it is mandatory for all large
projects to have their own Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for recycling
domestic wastewater from toilets and kitchens for re-use in flushing and
gardening. A project with 300 flats typically would generate over 1 lakh litres of
wastewater per day, which can be re-used within the project. If this water is to
be purchased using water tankers, it would cost Rs. 10,000 per day.
At Neco Park Central, our IGBC Platinum Pre-Certified status reflects our
commitment to sustainability. Central to this is our MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm
Reactor) Sewage Treatment Plant - a system designed to be an asset, not a
nuisance. MBBR technology uses specialized carriers where "friendly" bacteria
naturally purify water. It is compact, efficient, and handles varying loads with
ease, ensuring the highest level of treatment.
Many people associate STPs with foul smells or high maintenance. However,
the secret to a functional STP lies in its operations. An STP is a biological
system that requires a skilled operator to keep it balanced. When managed
professionally, the STP is odourless, silent, and invisible. We don’t just promise
performance, we’ve proven it. Our installed STPs at Neco SkyPark (Pimple
Nilakh) and Neco Beaumont (Mohammadwadi) have run successfully for years.
We welcome interested parties to visit these projects to see (and smell) a well-
managed STP firsthand.
While treated water may have a slight colour, it is a "super-food" for our
gardens & plants. Rich in natural nutrients, this water helps plants flourish and
prosper far better than plain domestic water ever could. It’s nature’s own
fertilizer, ensuring our community remains lush and vibrant year-round.
By recycling water, we significantly reduce our environmental footprint and
shield the society from rising water costs. At Neco Park Central, we turn waste
into a resource, proving that luxury living and environmental responsibility go
hand in hand.
